And Another Christmas Bunny!

Yup, those bunnies kept multiplying, as bunnies will (snicker) and here is my third Christmas bunny card. This is also an image from Your Next Stamp, and isn't she a cutie as she decorates her tree?! The stitched label is by Stephanie Barnard, and the stitched circles are by MFT. I colored the image with alcohol markers and used paper from my stash. For some reason, the shading on and around the bunny never show up in my photos...sigh.

Warmest Bunny Wishes

Here is the second card that I made, which was  inspired by the Christmas Kickstart challenge of Bunnies! This is from a stamp set by Your Next Stamp, and uses paper by DCWV. All it needed was a framed stitched rectangle by Gina Marie, and some bakers twine. Isn't that little bunny cute, with his snowball? Of course, for all we know he's getting ready to do something naughty, like throw it at the postal carrier, but he's cute anyway.

Mouse Party

I always need birthday cards for my stash and so I pulled out a House Mouse Designs stamp set and made this. The scalloped card base was cut with a die by Stephanie Bernard, and I used an embossing folder by Cuttlebug. I'm patting myself on the back for actually using some ribbon for a change, as I usually grab the twine. Aren't these the cutest little party-goers?!

You're Incredible

My daughter asked me to make two super-hero themed cards for birthday parties that my granddaughters were invited to, and this is the second one. The theme was The Incredibles movie, and I had to look it up online to see what colors to use. Awk, this grammie is out of the loop, so thank goodness for the internet. I used the Super Day stamp set for the sentiment, and the Calling All Heroes stamp set by Stampin' Up for all the other images. I love that lightening bolt and the city skyline.

Joy

I've been so busy these past couple of weeks that I suddenly ran out of card-making motivation and even my usual online cardmaking challenges couldn't seem to get me going. Then I saw that the Christmas Kickstart challenge featured bunnies...and I was off and running (or would that be hopping?). Anyway, when my kids were at home, we got involved in rabbit rescue and so we always had at least 6-13 rabbits around at all times. They were all quickly neutered , so I could pair them up. Rabbits are much happier with a buddy or two, and I didn't want  a population explosion!
I found this cute stamp in a set that was given to me, but I have no idea who makes it. I believe it may have been a free stamp set that came with a craft magazine from the UK. If anyone recognizes it, please let me know. I colored the image with alcohol markers, then added a stitched flag by LDRS, and stitched frame by Gina Marie. The button die is by My Favorite Things and I also added a bit of bakers twine. Can't figure out if this bunny is looking at song lyrics, or reading a directions to a friend's house, ha!

Sing!

I'm about to leave for my daughter's house and won't be back for several days so I madly rushed to finish this card. She has a friend who brings sunshine into the lives of all she meets, and we both wanted to thank her for all the help she's given over the years. I thought this bird and simple sentiment by Stamplorations (from For the Birds, and Trendy Birds 2) pretty much sums up her personality. The stencil is also by Stamplorations (Leaf prints), and the branch is by Impression obsession. I used the stamp and matching die by Stamplorations for the  bird. The stamped layer under the stenciled design has been in my stash for over 15 years and was stamped way back when I first discovered stamped backgrounds.Spring is in full bloom where I live, and so this also represents new life and growth to me.

Butterfly Garden

I have a lot of butterfly patterned papers, dies and stamps but often forget to use them. With spring in full bloom however, it was definitely time. I used beautifully patterned papers from my stash, along with butterfly dies by Winnie and Walter from the Audrey Cutaways set. The stitched rectangle is by Lawn Fawn

Chickie Bunny

I thought I was done with Easter cards, but then I remembered that I wanted to send a card to my niece's little girl. So, I dug deep into my old stash and found some paper by Current Inc and a bargain bin stamp from Michaels Crafts. The stitched flag die is by LDRS and the sentiment is from My Craft Spot. Die cut clouds are Paper Smooches.I'm having trouble with the color balance on my camera and blue, green or purple hues always cause my camera to shift toward the red. No matter how I tweak it, it never looks quite right...ah well.

More Springtime Blooms

Spring has definitely sprung in my part of the world, which means lots of greenery and lots of sneezing. However, my stamped blooms don't bother me a bit and so I colored up another tulip image for this card. Even used a piece of handmade paper from my stash, which has little bits of dried leaf in it. Unfortunately, my main image covers up most of that paper but I have more where that came from. Image is from MFP and sentiment is by My Craft Spot.I kept this card flatter than my previous tulip design, because I was worried about how it would mail.

Tulips

I have a tendancy to hoard any type of paper product that I may be able to use on a cad, and that includes this piece of corrugated cardboard that I found in my stash. I thought it makes a nice contrast with the doily and flower. I believe the tulip image is by Mark's Finest Papers, and the sentiment is from My Craft Spot. Both companies are now out of business, but I still use the sets that I have from them. I stamped the tulips, then stamped extra blooms, which I popped up with foam tape for dimension.

Easter Time

Well, April just flew by and here it is; nearly Easter. This means that I had to whip up a few assembly-line Easter cards that could be put together quickly. This image is an old wood mounted stamp that I've had for some time, and all it needed was a bit of coloring..and a pretty Spellbinder die cut frame. I'm loving the gingham papers for springtime lately and was happy to find this scrap in my stash!

Journey

While going through old paper in my craft stash, I came across this wood grained pattern and decided to team it up with a stamp set by Spellbinders that I've been meaning to ink up for months. The owl and feathers are colored with Spectrum Noir markers and I used a sentiment by Tim Holtz. The flock of birds flying by are also by Tim Holtz. This was one of those stamps that look completely different when you actually stamp it out, than what you expected. I was thinking of a natural looking owl, but it's rather fantastical instead. I think I'll stamp this owl out and color it in different combos, just for fun.

Start Each Day

I am determined to start using some of the old papers and stamps that I have in my stash, and this is one that I won in a giveaway years and years ago. It's called Blue Skies and is by Kite Tales Designs. I used another one of the sentiments from the Chalkboard Sentiment set by My Craft Spot, and fussy cut the kite a tiny bows to make an embellishment. I'll probably make up several cards with this paper collection, since spring is the perfect inspiration for windy days and kites!

Birthday Fun

I needed a quick and easy card for a teen this week so went to my Chalkboard sentiments set by My Craft Spot (which is sadly, no longer in business). Using a sentiment as a focal point is one of my favorite go-to techniques when I don't have a lot of time for fussy cutting and coloring.Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of my card before I mailed it off, so I made a similar one with the same stamp. Well, at least my card should arrive on time, for a change! Stitched ovals are by Gina Marie and the star is by Paper Smooches

Woodland Celebration

My blog friend, Janis, recently pulled out some older stamps by Mark's Finest Papers and that reminded me I also had a lot of their stamp sets. I saw a few challenges that involved Woodland creatures, so I pulled out two sets by MFP (Tree Scene and Bow Hunting) and put this masculine birthday card together. I colored my main image with alcohol markers, then stamped and fussy cut the deer. Some jute twine and a wooden button embellishment finished it off. By the way, I didn't have the right cardstock for my mat-frame, or for the background sky so I just inked up my foam blenders and added the color I needed. Great way to use up those scraps that are the right size but not the right shade of brown of blue, etc. I stamped the deer on kraft, with dark brown ink, but the cardstock texture blurred the image somewhat. So I went over some of the lines and shading with dark brown Prisma Color pencil, then added highlights with white pencil. Almost tossed this deer because of the muddy-looking initial results but I was determined to save it!

Super Day

My daughter asked me to make a couple of Super Hero themed cards for a few little boys parties they were invited to. I jumped at the chance to use a stamp set by Stampin' Up (word bubble and lightening bolt), and stamp and die by My Creative Time ,from the Have  A Super Day set. I used a ruler and foam blender for the ray background, and embossing folder by Darice. All of the die cuts and fussy-cut elements were made from teeny tiny scraps in my scrap pile...yay! Now to start on the second hero card..

Mouse Cheers

It feels like it's been weeks since I last made a card, but it's probably only been one week. Between tax time and spending time at my daughter's house helping with sick kids, I needed a crafty break yesterday so I rummaged through my small collection of House Mouse stamps and made a Christmas card for my stash. I bought a set of House Mouse stamps on EBAY some years ago, and this Christmas set wasn't in a package so I have no idea what it's called..but there are some cute images that I love.
This little guy is dreaming about Christmas dinner, I'm sure. I used dies by Gina Marie, Spellbinders, and Elizabeth Craft (sentiment). I wanted to use some metallic copper card stock, that I know I have, for the ornate frame but of course I couldn't find it anywhere. That's what I get for trying to organize my craft room, right?
