Butterfly Birthday Wishes

I used a sentiment by Stampendous, along with a butterfly image by Stamplorations from the Trendy Butterflies stamp set, and a label die by Spellbinders ro this birthday card. The paper is very old stash, and I used another doily. I even added a couple of pink rhinestones for sparkle. I think this would make the perfect springtime birthday card, don't you?

Warmest Thoughts

Yes, it's another Christmas card, but this is the last one. I'm of to my daughter's for a couple of days to help with  grandkids so won't have time to stamp and make cards. I've been making cards to donate but this one is for my own stash. Thinking I can make this in multiples for several different recipients. The label die set is by Spellbinders as is the little holley die. I just added tiny red rhinestones for berries. I so rarely use colored rhinestones that I felt very daring this week since I used several different colors!

Happy Holidays

I've had this Hero Arts stamp set for a long time (Happy Holidays) and so I dusted it off and made this yesterday. The founded snowflake border was made with the WeRMemory Keepers Mini-8 punch. I was lucky enough to win an entire set of them when they first came out years ago and recently pulled them out from my cupboard. I need to remember to use them because there are a lot of nice borders that can be used on layouts or cards.

Christmas Greetings

I used papers from a packet that came free with a craft magazine, and added a kraft doily from my stash along with a die cut snowflake by Little B. The tag had a printed logo on it that I didn't want, so I just fussy cut some holly leaves and adhered it right over the unwanted element!

Wishing You Peace

Here is another Christmas card that I made from papers that I won from Diana Larson in one of her DL.Art monthly linky parties, along with a vintage image that someone gave me. I just added a stamped sentiment and some seam binding ribbon and a tiny enamel glitter star. The labels are by Spellbinders. I've been hoarding all of my enamel dots and glitter shapes but it's time to start using them!

Noel

I have been working at using up some of my really old Christmas stash and so I managed to make several cards today. Many of these papers that I have are over 10 years old and I am determined to use them up. Why is it that they seem to reproduce right in the closet and drawers?? This one uses the last bit of paper from a pack by Current Inc that I bought 15 years or more ago. I combined it with a tag die by Spellbinders, an eyelet (also really old stash) and an element from a set of card ideas that someone gave me. The snowflae die is also by Spellbinders

Thank You for Teacher

Here is the second card that I made for Teacher Appreciation Week. This time I used adorable stamps by Imaginisce and a stamped sentiment from my stash. All I needed to do was add an enamel dot and some patterned paper.

Teacher Thanks

My granddaughters are both in school now so I whipped together a couple of Teacher Thank You cards for them to have ready for Teacher Appreciation Week. This patterned paper was at the bottom of my stash so I trimmed it and used it as a card base. I combined it with stamps by BoBunny and Niki Sivels (both are really old stamps). The sentiment is from a set by Concord and 9th. I even added some washi tape and a round enamel dot.

Peace and Joy

I work on Christmas cards all through the year and donate the majority of them to nursing homes and a women's shelter. The problem with donating so many cards is that I sometimes find myself in December without enough cards to send out myself!
I used a stamp and sentiment from my stash and tag die by Neat and Tangled on this card. Even used a little washi tape along the bottom of the tag. The embossed lines on the strip of red card stock were made on my scoring board. This is quick and easy card that would be great for multiples.

White Christmas

I have been inspired by my blog friend, Janis (Her Peaceful Garden), who has been using patterned papers with large designs to make cards. Those larger designs have kind of languished in my supply stash because I don't use bold papers for my layouts, but didn't quite know how to translate them to cards. This paper by Autumn Leaves has a winter- town border along the bottom that worked perfectly on this card. I only needed to add a large stamped sentiment, which I cut with stitched flags by LDRS. Some inking and two tiny enamel hearts finishes this heartwarming design.

Santa's Sleighride

I have a friend who often sends me her craft magazines from the UK after she's read them, and they always include a free set of stamps or dies. My friend apparently likes to read through the magazine but almost never keeps the free gifts...so she passes them onto me, yay! I die cut Santa and his sleigh ( by Helen Fitzjohn) and added it to a background that I fashioned from old, old paper by Paper Adventures. All it needed was a heat-embossed sentiment, cut with stitched flag dies by LDRS. The hardest part about this card was adhering the die cut, but I pulled out my trusty old Sticker maker and ran it through.

Butterfly Birthday

While I had my green and yellow papers out, I decided to make yet another butterfly card. Again, I used Stamplorations stamps (Trendy Butterflies 2), and a tag by Pretty Pink Posh. The die cut background is by Stephanie Barnard and I used the ink smooshing technique to add that splash of color behind the butterfly.

Butterfly Garden

I am off to spend a couple of days helping out with the grandkids, so managed to squeeze in two butterfly themed cards today, using Stamplorations stamps. This one uses Trendy Butterflies, along with layered Spellbinders dies and sentiment by MFT. A little inking and fussy cutting, and a subtle stamped background with a script stamp by Finnabar finishes it off.

Butterfly Joy fold

The Butterfly Spot challenge this month includes the Joy Fold as one option, and I was determined to give this a try. I've done a fold in the past that was called a Joy Fold, but it looked different from this one. Thanks to a wonderful tutorial on the blog, complete with measurements in inches (yay!), I was able to put this together tonight. The paper is by K&Co, and the butterfly is by Tim Holtz. I added some paper lace and a bit of jute for texture. The inside of the card is stamped with "Thinking of You". This came together so easily that I might add it to my card repertoire! I didn't add too much to this card because of all the patterned paper, and because it was enough just for me to keep all the folds straight, ha!
Butterfly Spot challenge 126, J is for Joy Fold, jade, jasmine, juicy orange, jewels and  jute. I used the second option of theme and color, and the third option of Joy Fold and butterfly. Oh my goodness, I just realized that I even completed all of the options when I added jewels!

Happy Holidays, and a bit of gold glitter

I mentioned that I've been unearthing a lot old stamped backgrounds and left over odds and ends from past projects lately, and have been trying to use at least a few of them. That pile isn't getting any smaller, but I give myself a pat on the back anyway! This card base was stamped with an old, wood-mounted background from Stampin'Up (flourish background), and I added a deer image from my stash, a fancy doily die and star die by Spelllbinders, and even some glittery gold ribbon that I found way at the bottom of a drawer. Isn't it fun when you can just shop your stash??

Noel

I recently won this beautiful Christmas die set by Creative Expressions so just had to pull it out and die cut some layered GLITTER sentiments! I have quite a few glitter sheets in my stash that I never think of use, so why not now? The hem-stitched rectangle is by Spellbinders, the deer head is by Little B, and the snowflake is by also by Creative Expressions. This was all made from scraps, including the snowflake, which was cut from an envelope. All I had to add was some seam binding ribbon and an embossing folder by Darice.

Happy B-day

I decided to make another bee-themed card while I had my bee stamps out, and even managed to use my hexagon embossing folder by Darice to mimic honey-comb. The bee is a Michael's Crafts bargain wood-mounted stamp, and the wood-grained stamp is by Winnie and Walter. I layered a label die by Gina K with a tag die by Avery Elle. Some bakers twine and a sentiment by MFT finished it off.

Busy Bee

I used to do cross-stitch, until my eyesight wouldn't allow it anymore, so I have a LOT of aida cloth in my craft stash. What better way to use it than to add texture to paper craft projects, right? I used an old wood mounted stamp by Anita's stamps, and a computer generated sentiment on vellum The textured base was made by rubbing a Distress Ink pad direct-to-paper, and the bee is by Rubber Stampede.

SSS Summer Kid's Challenge, Lots of Love

We also had our other granddaughter, Remi, here for several days, so of course she also got into the act.  Remi, at age 8 is able to use my Big Shot with supervision. She loves flipping through my dies and choosing paper scraps to cut out. These bunnies are from a spring Spellbinders set, and she handwrote her sentiment. She added Stickles glitter glue to some flowers from my stash, and glittered up her sentiment strip. The stitched heart is by My Favorite Things, and she punched hearts with a Fiskars punch.

SSS Kid's Summer Challenge, Sparkly unicorn

I have two granddaughters who just love to craft, so that's one thing we share together. My 5 year old granddaughter, Blair, also loves unicorns and glitter. So, when she spent several days at our house, she made this birthday card for her older sister. The unicorn stamp and die are by Concord and 9th and she colored the unicorn with Pentel markers, with LOTS of Stickles glitter glue. I didn't have a rainbow die or stamp large enough, so she just drew hers on with marker. Blair has an incredible amount of patience for a 5 year old and worked on this card for about 45 minutes. She was SO excited to give this to her big sister!

Christmas Tree Two-fer

For those of you who have already seen these cards individually, please skip on ahead! When I finally inked up this Christmas collage stamp by Deep Red, I decided to make two different card designs with it. This just happened to fit the Two-fer challenge on Christmas Kickstart #16, so here they are. I entered them separately in a few other challenges, but put them side-by-side for this one. The one on the right is heat embossed with gold embossing powder and I added a metallic gold bakers twine. The one on the left is stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa, and the glitter die cuts were made with a die set by Little B.

Trendy Garden

My daughter has been having trouble linking her Flickr account posts to a few challenges so I suggested that she use my blog to link to the challenge she had trouble with . So here is her card and description.

"I've been making a lot of Christmas cards this summer and then realized that I didn't have a single card to give my friend when her birthday came around. So I pulled out a baggie of punched flower shapes that I had made our of random card stock scraps, and layered them to make these embellishments. The flowers weren't standing out enough against the bold stripes so I die cut a few circles from black card stock to add an extra layer. Popped them up on foam tape and added a stamped sentiment by Altenew."
