Still trying to figure out how to put a subscribe button on my blog, but in the meantime...

Just added the Blogtrottr subscribe form to my sidebar and I'm hoping it works as it should. So you can either go directly to Blogtrottr and add my blog to follow by email, or fill in the form. Thanks so much for following me.  Thanks for your help Janis!

It was hard enough for me to figure out how to set up a blog, and now feedburner disappeared as a subscriber feature. I've been reading instructions on switching over, and/or transferring my email subscribers to another feed, but my mind just can't seem to get around it. In the meantime, I hate to lose my small subscriber group so, if you want to continue getting notifications of new posts on my blog, I'm "borrowing" instructions from my blog friend, Janis of Her Peaceful Garden.

Please go to https://blogtrottr.com/ and paste in this link:  https://karen94803.blogspot.com/to continue to receive my updates in your email.  THANKS.

Birthday Pup

Our malti-poo, Toby turned 16 years old on July 30 of this year, and of course I had to make him a card. He's doing so well for his age, especially since he has been in kidney failure for a year. He also takes thyroid medication twice a day. He's on a special diet and I give him subcutaneous fluids every other day or so, but it's done wonders for keeping him fit and feeling good.

The card uses a cute die by Simon Says Stamp, along with a sentiment by Cardz TV. Happy Birthday Toby!

Here's the birthday boy with his card.

Snowglobe Greetings

Wow, I almost forgot to make a card for the Rudolph Challenge this month, which would be a first. I love that challenges like this keep me on track so I have put those all-night marathon Christmas card making sessions in the past. I recently got this adorable little snowglobe die by Poppystamps, and used a bunch of small scraps to make this. The tree is from a Spellbinders set, and the sentiment is by Paper Trey Ink. Isn't that the cutest little fawn? I'm not sure who makes that pretty snowflake frame embossing folder but it's perfect when you just want a little big of texture. For some reason, I often piggyback the Snippets challenge and Rudolph challenge in one card. I guess Christmas cards lend themselves to the use of snippets, in my world.

Pixie's Snippets challenge #408. I used all kinds of snippets on this card, including patterned paper. Love digging into my huge stash of snippets, but why does that stash never decrease in size??

Cake Box favor

I usually give my sister a set of handmade cards, plus a little favor box of goodies for her birthday every year, and this is the favor that I made this time around. The die was given to me as part of a blog prize and is by Tonic Studios. I had to find a Youtube tutorial in order to figure out assembly instructions, but it was fairly simple. All the parts and folds were a little bit fiddly, and I had to use extra strong double sided tape to keep it together, but it was fun to make. They suggest making a whole cake, with multiple cake slices, but that would have taken me days!

Special Day

Before I started making my own cards, I collected stationary. Although I did write a lot of notes and letters, I ended up with a large collection, which I still have tucked away in drawers and boxes. I found this pretty daffodil design awhile back and decided to turn it into a card. The scalloped rectangle die and sentiment is by Winnie & Walter, which is no longer in business. The circle die is by Sizzix and I used some hand dyed silk ribbon that my mom gave me years ago. It matches the floral image so perfectly, doesn't it? I make and donate a lot of cards to nursing homes and Meals On Wheels, and this design is a good one to add to my stack.

Happy Birthday

Here is another card that uses up old stash. The scalloped square label is by Spellbinders, and embossed sentiment is from my stash. The flower in the middle was made by punching hearts and forming them into a flower shape, then adding a brad for the center. A bit of twine and a heat embossed sentiment finishes this simple card.
