Merry Christmas

This nuthatch stamp by Mark's Finest Papers (no longer in business) is one of my favorite images for Christmas cards. It looks great, even without having to color it. I combined it with oval dies by Gina Marie, an embossing folder by Tim Holtz, and stamped sentiment by Simon Says Stamp (mini plaid stamp set). Then I added a silver snowflake cut with a die by Little B designs.

Inspire

I love using up snippets from my enormous stash of scraps, and this card gave me the chance to use a number of different card stock colors. I also used a pretty butterfly embossing die (by Darice) given to me by my blog friend Janis, as the focal point. The circle die is by Sizzix and the floral half circle and sentiments are both by Spellbinders. I die cut extra flowers and adhered them to the greenery and even used a few rhinestones from my huge stash of bling.  Although gluing down the foliage was rather a pain, I think I'll make another one of these to keep on hand for springtime notes.

In addition, this card has been entered in the 3rd annual "It's A Girl Thing" Turner Syndrome hop and challenge. I discovered this hop last year and was happy to see that Lori is hosting again. Although I was already familiar with Turner Syndrome, I learned a lot through the hop.  According to information on the main page,

"Turner Syndrome is a genetic disorder where a female is born missing all or part of her second X chromosome leaving her with life-long medical issues and learning disabilities. This condition occurs one in 2,000 female births worldwide, but is more common among pregnancies that do not survive to full term. That is why Turner Syndrome Females are considered MIRACLES!"

Forest Magic

I was asked to make several masculine cards to donate, so I pulled out this stamp and made five of these. I used an image from a free set called Forest Magic, a tag die by Sizzix, and oval die and leaf die by Spellbinders.  The tag is embossed with a folder by Park Lane. The button has a thin piece of paper threaded through it instead of thread, as I tried to reduce the bulk for mailing.

Happy Everything

This week was reorganization week in my craft room, and that means I've been unearthing a lot of old supplies that I forgot I had. That includes patterned papers that were part of magazine freebies. A friend of mine buys cardmaking magazines from the UK, and then gives them to me when she's finished reading them. These patterned papers are from a free kit that came with one issue. All I needed to do was add a stamped sentiment and stitched flag dies by LDRS. I fussy cut one of the funny birds from the patterned paper, and added some twine and a shaped paper clip. I didn't expect to like this card when I started, but ended up making several of them to have on hand. Shopping our stash is a great way to spend the COVID shut down.

Fluttering By

I was recently asked to make and donate several cheery cards to a local nursing home, and it was my opportunity to dig into my stash of those patterned papers that I wouldn't normally use. You know the type...the ones with patterns that your grandma used to have as wallpaper in the guest bedroom. Of course, my own grandchildren probably consider my own taste way out of date, but that's a story for them to tell!

In an attempt to tone down this floral pattern, I used some plain vellum and attached it with eyelets (remember eyelets?) A label die and foliage by Spellbinders, butterfly die by Firefly, and a sentiment by My Sentiments Exactly all came together to make this. Then, just to continue the old fashioned theme, I added some adhesive pearls.  I made a batch of six of these, in different colors, and I hope this puts a smile on the recipients' faces.

Happy Day

I used this stamp by Unity Stamps on several mini calendars a couple of years ago, and came across the image in my odds and ends stash. So, I colored it and matted...and turned it into a card. The paper is ancient, as are the eyelets. Slowly digging away at that pile of super old supplies and papers.

Buttons and Clips

I don't know about you, but I bought a ton of buttons and shaped paper clips years ago, when office supply embellishments were all the rage. How many of these shaped clips did I use on projects?? Oh, maybe 5 at best. How many buttons have I used? Perhaps 10, and that's being generous. So, when an online forum friend challenged us to use buttons or office supplies on a card, I rummaged through my stash and made this. Not sure who made the stamp, because I had tossed the packaging years ago.

Butterfly Birthday

Here is another card that uses the purple friendship script paper I've had in my stash for years. The scalloped square die set  is by Spellbinders and the stamp is by Rubber Stampede. I used alcohol markers for coloring and a stamped sentiment.

Kitty Love

I found that I had enough Valentines left over from last year to send out this year,  but still had to make at least a few. This one uses a cat stamp by Stamplorations, a house and heart die, and sentiment die by Penny Black Inc. (T for Transparent, Creative Dies) I finished it off with some red gingham ribbon and bakers twine.

Well Wishes

I have been going through a lot of old stash and trying to use it up. Of course, that's an impossible task, but I can dream. To begin with though, I pulled out seven sheets of this patterned paper that has been in my stash for years and years. I am determined to use every single scrap to make a stack of cards for donation to the local nursing home. The wavy rectangle is by Gina Marie, the tag is by Fun Stampers Journey, the butterfly stamp is by Rubber Stamped, and the sentiment is by Winnie & Walter.

I am entering this card in the "It's A Girl thing" challenge for Turner's Syndrome awareness. Turner Syndrome is a genetic disorder where a female is born missing all or part of her second X chromosome leaving her with life-long medical issues and learning disabilities. This condition occurs one in 2,000 female births worldwide, but is more common among pregnancies that do not survive to full term. That is why Turner Syndrome Females are considered MIRACLES!

A Happy Birthday

While I had my butterfly stencil and papers out I decided to make another butterfly card. This one uses the same Elizabeth Craft Designs stencil, along with a die cut by Spellbinders and butterfly die by Stamplorations. The sentiment is from Diamond Press, and I added a bit of my favorite hemp twine.

Butterfly Wishes

As spring peeks around the corner, I've found myself dusting off my butterfly stamps and dies. I used an old wood mounted stamp by Rubber Stampede, which I colored with markers and fussy cut. The embossing folder (script words) by Cuttlebug. The scalloped circle border die is by Sizzix, and the stencil is Elizabeth Craft Designs. I also used a leafy die by Sizzix and colored it with alcohol markers to match the green shade in my butterfly. I didn't want the stenciled background to compete with the central butterfly so went with almost a tone-on-tone ink color. A bit of twine seemed perfect for this touch of nature. Lots of snippets from my stash made me happy as well!

Pixie's Snippets Challenge 395. In memory of sweet Ruby's first snippets challenge, I dug deep in my stash and made this card to celebrate new beginnings.

Butterfly Spot challenge 151. I used the elements of hemp, hansa yellow, and orange. Of course, I included my butterfly as well!
