Simple Joys

Years and years ago I borrowed a set of hexagon punches from a friend of mine and punched a whole container full of random patterned and solid hexagon shapes. At the time, I wasn't thinking about how I would use them, so I didn't sort them by color and size, nor did I use coordinated papers. Because it was such a hodge podge, those punched shapes sat for over 10 years, and I finally decided to make myself use some of them. I layered and inked a few in shades of tan and deep yellow, then adhered them across an embossed card. The embossing folder is by Park Lane, the label die is by Diamond Press, and the sentiment is Papertrey Ink. The bee is a very old wood mounted stamp by Rubber Stampede, and I added eyelets, mulberry flowers and tiny brads. Lots of really old supplies here, and lots of snippets from my stash.

Pixie's Snippets challenge 426. Lots of snippets, hard at work here in this card!

  1. Hi Karen - you may win the award for using up the OLDEST snippets. 10 years+ is very impressive! You've put your snippets to good use on this lovely card. Great embossed background and nicely embellished hexagons.

Thanks for coming to play in the Snippets Playground xxx

  3. I was sure I'd commented! More so as you replied thinking it was closer to 20 years ago since you did all that punching. I can pick up a piece of cross stitch and remember exactly where i was when I last was working on it. Gorgeous card, all these years later!

    Hugs
