Life is better with my cat

I won a stamp set in last year's Cat Lovers Hop (or maybe it was the year before...time flies) and had to combine it with this fun image by The Cats Pajamas. I think it's hilarious to imagine this pup expressing his appreciation for his kitty friend, don't you?

Autumn Cat

I used another really old cat image from my foam mounted set , and fussy cut it this time to make an ATC. Atc's are great for keeping on hand, as they can also provide a focal point on a card. The base is stamped and then layered with a few stickers and rhinestones.

Christmas Kitty

I pulled out this layered Christmas tree stamp set by Hero Arts, and added the layered cat from Toil and Trouble by Kat Scrappiness. This kitty loves his small tree, that is just his size. I added a die cut label by Spellbinders and a sentiment also from the Hero Arts set.

Slow Down

I found a scrap of autumn patterned paper in my stash and realized that it would make a great quick and easy card. All I had to do was add some cat die cuts from a set by Gina Marie, and a stamped sentiment by MFT. Don't you love this cat family taking a stroll on a fall day?

Welcome Cat

As I dug through my old stamp sets I found this fun image of an Asian welcome cat, or maneki neko. Japanese stores and restaurants often have a ceramic cat that sits by the door, welcoming all who enter. His paw is raised in a wave, and he holds a lucky coin. This image came from a stamp set by Mark's Finest Papers, which is no longer in business.

Birthday Cat

While I had this Doodlebug Designs, Smitten Kitten paper and ephemera out on my desk I decided to make a birthday card as well. I combined the elements with a sentiment by CAS-ual Friday stamps, andstitched circles by MFT.

Purrfect in every way

I recently lamented to Janis, of Her Peaceful Garden, that I wish I had a cat-themed Doodlebug Designs collection...and then she reminded me that I did have Smitten Kitten, and that SHE had sent them to me a few years back. Yikes! I had put them away with my pet themed supplies and had just been hoarding them. Once I discovered that I had these cuties, I pulled them out for the Cat Lovers Hop, and away we go! I used the 6x6 paper pad, and ephemera collection for Smitten Kitten, by Doodlebug Designs,  to make this fun cat card. A lime-green kitty...why not?

Good Vibes cat

As I played with the Toil and Trouble stamp set by Kat Scrappiness, it occurred to me that this cat can be stamped in crazy colors, as well as realistic ones. I pulled out some hot pink inks and time traveled back to the 1960's, to the Summer Of Love. The sentiment is from Flora and Fauna and took some digging before I found it. That peace sign was even harder to put my hands on, and is one of those really cheap plastic stamps for kids that are self inking. I pulled the image off the stamp mounting and am using it unmounted because I could not get it to work.  This cat is wishing for Peace, Love, and Good Vibes, whether you want them or not! I used scrap paper from my stash and overstamped with an ATC background by Lost Coast Designs.

Black Cat ATC

I won this wonderful stamp and die set from Kat Scrappiness, Toil and Trouble awhile back and really wanted to use it for Halloween. This year seems to have gone by without my making even one Halloween card, so I had to remedy that today. I used some dictionary print paper, which I inked up and then overstamped with an ATC background by Lost Coast Designs. The layered black cat image is by Kat Scrappiness, as is the sentiment. If you look at the background text, you will see that it includes part of a definition of arsenic..perfect for a Halloween ATC, right?

Good Night Kitties

Here is another old stamp from my stash, and I'm not even sure who made this one. It's mounted on a shaped plastic mount with a handle so I'm glad I don't have more like these, as storing them would be a pain. I combined this image with an embossing folder by Darice, square dies by Cottage Cutz, and even used some chocolate brown polka dotted ribbon (patting myself on the back for actually using ribbon, yikes!). I left it blank so I can add a suitable sentiment at some point. Believe it or not, I had only made two cat cards before the hop started, but once I got started, I couldn't stop! We are expecting our power to be turned off as early as tomorrow, as part of a push to prevent wildfires from starting in this high fire season. If that happens, I won't be able to stamp or craft at all, so I'm taking advantage of our power now!

Golden Garden

Here is another card, in which I used my old, old foam mounted stamp. This time I colored and designed my card to use golden, fall colors. I added a doily and used an embossing folder by Cuttlebug. the tag die is by Gina K.

Baby Congratulations

I've had this cute little unmounted stamp in my stash for years and always thought it would make the perfect baby card...so I finally went ahead and made one! I may as well have a couple of them on hand, as the children of many of my friends are starting families. I used some old paper from my stash (as always...you probably wonder if I ever buy NEW paper, ha!), and a sentiment by Cardz TV. The stitched flag dies are by LDRS. A few commenters pointed out that this looks like a grandma cat with her new grand-kitty...I love it! Now I have a card in my stash that would be perfect for those friends of mine who are having grandkis as well.

Sunny Garden Cat

This stamp set is a very very old one, that came mounted on foam. I could never get a decent stamped image with the set, so I took it off the foam and used the stamps as unmounted ones instead. Now that I have a Misti, it's even easier to get a good image. I colored this up in several different color combos, and added this one to a birthday embossing folder for a simple birthday card. The sentiment is by Cardz TV.

Beach Cat

I just love this sweet little cat, enjoying a day at the beach. The image is by The Crafts Meow, which is no longer in business. I colored her up in gray last year, so went with an orange tabby this year. I combined the image with stitched rectangles by Gina Marie, a little bit of jute and bakers twine, and a sentiment by Cardz TV.

Nerdy Cat

This die set by Paper Smooches makes either a cat or a dog, depending on which interchangeable elements you add. I decided to make a nerdy cat, popping in for a quick Birthday wish, and used a glasses die by Penny Black to give him that extra bit of nerdy swagger. The word bubble die is by Memory Box , and the sentiment is also by Paper Smooches.

Garden Kitty

I used the Feline Blooms stamp set by Stampendous for this fun Laurel Burch card design. Back in the 1990's I owned several Laurel Burch cat pins and earrings, so I love seeing the Stampendous sets. I still have those pins and earrings, but don't wear them anymore.  I should try turning some of the earrings (which were very large and colorful, ha!) into pins that I can wear, right?
I combined these stamps with a pretty garden border die by Darice that Janis gave me , and my handy dandy cloud embossing folder, also by Darice.
