As I dug through my old stamp sets I found this fun image of an Asian welcome cat, or maneki neko. Japanese stores and restaurants often have a ceramic cat that sits by the door, welcoming all who enter. His paw is raised in a wave, and he holds a lucky coin. This image came from a stamp set by Mark's Finest Papers, which is no longer in business.

Awww!!! So beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a super cute image; great card.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen this one for awhile....I have him, too! Several months ago I finally put all my MFP sets in one binder so they would be more accessible. I have used a couple of them since then, but they don't get as much ink as they deserve. This card is sweet and happy. Love how you colored him and the background paper you chose. Great addition to our Cat Hop!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for playing along in the #2019CatLoversHop!!

ReplyDeleteI have to admit to being partial to these waving, Good Luck cats and I asked my friend if she would bring me one back from her trip to the East. He looks magnificent in his golden splendour! A really beautiful card, Karen!
