A Llama Love

I've had this stamp set for quite a while now but only just now inked it up. It was so fun to play with that I plan to make a whole set of llama cards now.   The stamp is from Llama Tell You, by Stamplorations and I went with a super CAS design. The word bubble die is by Penny Black and the enamel shapes are by Fun Stampers Journey. I colored the llama and shaded him (and the word bubble) with alcohol markers.

For You

I've been trying to use up old stash and pulled out a pad of patterned paper that is at least 10 years old. Then I found this fun sentiment die by Lawn Fawn in my stash and I used it for the first time. The papers are by Colorbok and the teeny flowers were given to me as a RAK.  The scalloped circle die is by Sizzix, and circle die by Spellbinders.

Birthday Color Block

I always intend to enter the challenge at Unstampabelles, which requires that you make a card or project without using stamps. However, as a stamp lover, that's a tough one. I keep reaching for my sentiment stamps at the very least. This time I pulled out a die cut sentiment by Stephanie Barnard and started with that. The papers are by Colorbok, and I layered silk flowers, die cuts, and paper flowers from my stash. I backed the sentiment with a vellum shadow die to make it easier to read. Easy as pie, and I even used up some old stash.

Birthday Brew

I've had this die by Stamplorations for quite some time but, for some reason, always forget to use it. So, I pulled it out yesterday and cut some scraps, stamped a sentiment by Simonne Clay, popped it on a slimline card. The papers are by Stampin' Up and are from a paper pad that I've been hoarding for years.

Happy Holidays

I love using this coffee cup die by My Favorite Things because you can customize it for any time of year, and any occasion. It's perfect for using up little scraps from my scrap stash as well, which is always a good thing. I combined the die with a snowflake die by Little B, papers by Stampin' Up, and a stamped sentiment by Essentials by Ellen. I embossed the background with a folder by Darice.  That little metal dot embellishment is by Colorbok, and I wish I could find more of them, but they're probably at least 10 years old.

Pixie's Snippets challenge 406. Lots of snippets here, which meant lots of gluing and die cutting. Love the die cutting, but I could do without all that gluing.

Anniversary Wishes

I decided to combine a few pre-made embellishments with a stamped sentiment and twine to make this anniversary card for a neighbor of mine. Silly me thought it was be quick and easy since I began with a few pre-made bits, but in reality it probably took twice as long as if I had made it from scratch! The adhesive that held the champagne bottle together had yellowed over time, so (being a glutton for punishment) I took it all apart, traced and cut, layered and glued it back together. Same with the heart, which I traced and cut from another piece of paper. Half the sequins fell off, so I set to work gluing on more sequins, and then they fell off again, hah! I added extra purple vellum to the bottle neck to cover the yellowing that I couldn't get rid of, then die cut tiny butterflies by Winnie & Walter.  The sentiment is by Stampin' Up and green card base is actually an upcycled medical brochure that I got from my doctor.

Wonderful Day

I've been going through my really old stash and pulling out projects that I had completely forgotten about. It's time to either toss them, or finish them. In this case, I turned these butterflies (embossed and colored, and then layered with a vellum layer) into a card. The sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp and the fancy frame die is by Spellbinders. This can be either a birthday card, anniversary card, or to celebrate any occasion.

Great Teacher

My daughter put in a request for a teacher thank you card for my granddaughter to give to her first grade teacher next month. They've been doing distance learning since last March, and her teacher this year is young, energetic and wonderful. The classroom motif is a cactus, so daughter wanted something modern, fun, colorful...with a cactus. Yikes, I felt intimidated, and put it off for several weeks. However, I pulled out a set of fun cactus stamps and dies by ArtC that I won in a giveaway by Holley, of Holley's blog: http://holleybarnhartsblog.blogspot.com/  and combined it with a stenciled background by Faber Castell. The tag die is by Papertrey Ink, which was given to me by the lovely Darnell of djkardkreations:  https://www.djkardkreations.com/

This was the first time I used Distress Oxides with a stencil. and I like the subtle look of it. The stamped sentiment is by Gina K Designs. By the way, making tags, and stamping and fussy cutting are great ways to use those little snippets of scraps in your stash. Just stamp, cut, and layer away!

Do What Makes Your Soul Shine

I recently won a stamp set by Pretty Pink Posh that has some really wonderful sentiments on it. I combined this one with the layered wave set by The Ton for a simple, mature themed design. This sentiment works for just about any occasion, and I plan to make several of them to have on hand.

Teacher Thank You

My granddaughter was fortunate enough to get an amazing teacher this past year, who enabled her to not only adjust to distance learning, but to thrive.  Mr. H, had office hours every day after class, and my granddaughter was comfortable asking for clarification of those things she didn't understand in class, rather than having to ask in front of other students. Because of that, she is proud to be in the top math group in class, instead of the bottom, for the first time.

So, when she asked me to make a card for a "man teacher", I pulled out an old paper pad and some vintage stamps to make this. Grandaughter will write a letter inside, so I left it blank.
