Magic Carpet Birthday

Sorry I still haven't announced my winner for the Cat Lovers giveaway. I promise to have that up here by Monday. Have been busy with grandkids! Thanks to everyone for your wonderful comments!

I dusted off one of my old unmounted stamps by VivaLasVegasStamps for this fun card. The embossing folder is by Darice, and the sentiment is Brutus Monroe. All it needed was a few enamel dots and dies by Gina Marie and Kat Scrappiness. Up, up and away we go!

From Meow to You

My blog friend, Janis, gave me this adorable Laurel Burch stamp design by Stampendous, so what better time to ink it up than for the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop that she is hosting on Her Peaceful Garden blog. I stenciled the background with Distress inks, and added a sentiment by MFT.  A few rhinestones give the impression of raindrops. This is a stamp that I plan to use often, with different color combos to match the seasons. Thanks Janis!

Kitty Celebration

My daughter-in-law and her family just love cats so what could be more perfect than a Stampendous Laurel Burch stamp set.  This is from Feline Blooms, I used the floral images to make a stamped background, then colored and fussy cut the cat to layer on top. The embossing folder is by Sizzix. These Laurel Burch designs are so fun that you don't really need a lot of extra embellishment to make a fun card.

Better Not Pout!

I got this fun stamp set by The Cats Pajamas awhile back and  couldn't wait to ink it up. Well, today was the day. This cat just makes me laugh every time I look at him. That expression is just too much. Not too sure even coffee is going to help this kitty get going in the morning. The paper is by DCWV and I added twine by The Ribbon Resource.

Blair's Interactive Cat Stack card

Most of you are familiar with my 6 year old granddaughter, Blair, who loves to make cat crafts. Her mom, Shannon (SHartl) usually posts Blair's cat crafts on Flickr, but she asked to me post this one because we couldn't quite figure out how to show the two different views of this card over on Flickr. So, I'm happy to let Blair guest design today.

Blair loves to draw and she's constantly doodling and drawing on every scrap of paper she can get her hands on. It's not unusual to pick up a stack of mail and see that Blair has already decorated it with her special brand of art. One of her favorite subjects to draw are cats (second favorite are unicorns). This time she decided to get fancy and make this adorable interactive cat stack design. Here is the card, folded up.

Here's what you see when you open the folds.

She apologized for the messy coloring, and explained that she couldn't find her markers...haha!

2020 Cat Lovers Hop Giveaway

When I saw that the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop was on its way,  I wanted to offer a giveaway as a thank you to all of you who leave such wonderful comments on my projects. After ordering my prize online, I found that Spellbinders sent me the wrong item!! I wasn't sure if the replacement would arrive in time to offer it up for this hop but I just got notification that it's shipping tomorrow..whew.

Because of all the COVID restrictions, I'm afraid this prize will only be limited to US shipping. If I pick an International winner, I will offer a $10 gift to any online store instead.

If you're interested in winning the giveaway, be sure to comment on all of my 2020 Cat Lovers Hop projects (you don't need to include this post).  Please mention the Cat Lovers Hop in your comment so that I know you're part of the hop and want to be in the running for the giveaway.

This is the stamp set that I'm offering. It's cling rubber and comes with two sentiments. When I saw it, I had to get it! We all know that cats have attitude to spare, but this one would really give you a run for your money..haha!

Thanks again for putting this hop together Janis (one of these will be on its way to your mailbox as a thank you too). The chance to cozy up with cat crafts and other cat lovers in the midst of this crazy year is like a balm to the soul.

A Mama Cat's Work is Never Done

I had several vintage cat images in my stash, and decided to turn this one into a card. I love the expression on Mama Cat's face. Can't figure out if she's thinking, "When will this day ever end", or " I just finished cleaning, and now they're at it again". Either way, it was time for me to use whip this up for the 2020 Cat Lovers Hop on the Her Peaceful Garden blog. We don't have any cats anymore, but I'm a cat lover from way back (even had cat jewelry and made TWO cat vests for myself...haha!) Now I am content with making cat themed cards and watching funny cat videos on Youtube. I used paper from my stash, a scalloped rectangle die by Winnie and Walter (no longer in business, sad to say), scalloped circle die by Die-sire, seam binding ribbon, and even forced myself to use a paper flower. The little brad in the flower center has glitter on it, and so I was hoarding it (as crafters will do).  My new resolution though, is to USE IT UP...so there it is on this card.

Trick Or Treat

I'm not even sure when I got this stamp set, but it was probably on a deep after-Halloween clearance some years ago. I finally inked it up and made this card for my sister. I heat embossed all the elements, and layered them right over each other. The purple paper is by Hero Arts, and the stamp set is Tim Holtz. That little strip along the bottom is from a Halloween stack by DCWV, and the button is a die by MFT.

Hello Fall

I got this great autumn die set by Spellbinders (Small die of the Month) as part of a blog prize awhile back and pulled it out to make a few fall themed cards this week. I decided to combine it with some metallic card stock by DCWV, and an embossing folder by Darice (Circle Interlock). The fall leaf die is by Tim Holtz for Sizzix, and the fiber and rhinestones are from my stash. I just love the folk art design of the acorn cap and the warm metallic colors. I think this card would make a fun alternative to my usual Happy Thanksgiving cards that I send out each year.

Pixie's Snippets challenge 389. I used up lots of snippets as I made several of these die cut acorns.

A Haunting We Will go

I've had this stamp set for awhile now, but have no idea who made it. Wish I had labeled the set before I tossed the packaging. Anyway, I love using embossing folders, so was very excited when I saw a new challenge blog called Let's Squash it, that calls for embossing folders! The inaugural challenge calls for geometric embossing and metallics. I pulled out my Argyle folder by Darice,  and metallic cardstock by DCWV. The stitched tag is by Avery Elle, and I used textured yarn and a tiny copper brad from my stash.  I've gotten a late start on my Halloween cards this year so was happy to combine a few challenges with this one.
