Party On

My blog friend, Janis of Her Peaceful Garden, gave me the cutest cat dies a while back and I've been playing with them this last week. My little 5 year old granddaughter was just in love with these cuties as we die-cut, embossed and  inked them  up. I popped on of these kitties on a birthday card, using a scalloped frame die by Winnie and Walter from the Audrey Cutaways set. I added a sentiment  and music notes from Party On, a sparkle design from Sparkle (of course), and a cake image from Happy Dance (all by Winnie and Walter) . A little bit of Glossy accents on the cake and hat give it extra pizazz (but is unfortunately not obvious in the photo).

Now, just for fun, I want to share the card that my 5 year old granddaughter made while she was staying with us for the long weekend! It uses the same Kitty die set by Darice, but she chose the sleeping kitty. As you can see, this cat is sitting on her sumptuous tassled cushion, and is dreaming of a red velvet cupcake. Ever the creative doodler, granddaughter added decorative corners and a layered crazily glittered flower just for fun. Oh yes, and note that this is a uni-cat...so she hand drew the unicorn horn and glittered that too. Can't ever have too much glitter if you're a 5 year old!

  1. Woohoo! Congrats on your blog, Karen! I'm your newest follower! You already know I love your kitty card, and now I love your grand-daughter's card! She is so trendy adding the unicorn horn to the kitty! LOVE it! She's a very creative young crafter and I imagine you two have loads of fun together!

    1. Thanks Kitty, and thanks for coming over to my blog. I see the benefits of blogging over Flickr because I can do a little bragging about my grandkids as well as posting my projects, haha!

  2. Super-fun cards made with that die set!!! Now that I am seeing how cute those kitties are, I might have to get a set for me, too. :) I love your card with the adorable kitty wearing the party hat and guarding that delicious-looking cake. I wonder how long that will last! Ha.
I am still loving how Blair turned the cat into a uni-kitty!! Soooooo sweet.

  3. This is such a fun card. So blessed that you joined our Challenge at Word Art Wednesday and would like to invite you again to link with us at the new challenge that started today. Leaving you with God's Word in 1 John 2:15-17 which says, "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever." Have a blessed and wonderful week.
