Special Day

Mother's Day is coming up and I usually make and send cards to my two sisters, my daughter, and several elderly aunts. I try to make enough cards to also send to my good friends in town as well.  As I only have a couple of Mother's Day sentiments, I made up a few multiples with a more general theme on the front, and am writing Mother's Day greetings inside. In following my promise to use more old stash, I dug deep into my wood mounted stamp collection and used Garden Blocks by Stampin' Up. This was one of my first Stampin'Up sets and the date on it is 2003. I stamped them in bright, bold colors and then popped them up on foam tape for dimension. Some twine and a sentiment by Your Craft Spot (now out of business) and I have two down with six to go!
Pixie's Snippets challenge #377. Although all the squares look like I used the same white card stock for each, I actually used scraps of 3 different card stocks! It didn't help that I had to toss a few out due to incomplete stamping, but I did use up lots of snippets.

Double Trouble challenge 55. I did Thing 1 ( used flowers, leaves, purple and green)and Thing 2.

  3. What a gorgeous card Karen - lovely design and such pretty colours too. Scraps of white card are always so useful - I gulp if i throw any snippet of card away :) And what a corker of a stamps set - it hasn't dated in the least, it's a keeper for sure! And finally - I do love the twine you added - really makes this card so special.

And finally, finally - I promise you, Dudley's manners aren't impeccable! The other day, Len picked him up to pop up him on his 'look out' table and Dudley promptly burped right in Len's face. A delicate burp but a burp nevertheless! Could have been worse though I said.

    Hugs

    Di xx
