Special Person

I had an idea for a card that seemed like a simple and easy design. Three days later, I FINALLY finished it after taking it apart at least four times and re-cutting the die pieces three times, ugh. My stamped sentiments kept smearing and my cuts were crooked. I didn't like the first arrangement at all because it was way too busy. All in all, this was the opposite of quick and easy...but I did manage to use a die that I've had and never used (the wreath die by The Cats Pajamas)..along with three stamp sets by Winnie and Walter (Mini-background Multi-grain, Sentimental Gifts, and Winter Wonderland). I also used the Audrey Cutaways die frame by Winnie and Walter. The stitched circle die is by MFT. Whew, I need a nap now!

  1. Karen, I feeeeeeeeeeeeeel your pain!!! This kind of thing happens to me all the time. I get this (what-silly-me-thinks-is-going-to-be-a) easy and fun card design and it ends up taking years off my life!! A crafty friend has a stamp she puts on the back of some of her cards that says something like "If you knew how long it took me to make this card, you would keep it forever!"...so true!! If we ever had the idea that making our own cards was going save time and/or money, we were certainly disabused of that mistaken impression some time back! Am I right?

In the end, your card turned out just beautifully. No one would ever guess how much trouble it gave you. The colors are so pretty and cheery and I love the wreath you constructed. The birdie in the center looks fab against the woodgrain. Great job! It will all be worthwhile after that nap. :)
