Doggie Santa Tags
I couldn't find any of my Christmas tags this year so I whipped these up for my 2 year old grandson's gifts. I used circle dies by Sizzix and MFT, and a dog stamp by Cardz TV. The Santa hat die is by Lawn Fawn. I attached each tag to one of his gifts, with his name on it. Since he can't read though, the dog gave him something to look for and identify as his gifts.

Deck the Halls
Is is another gift card holder that I made. I used this adorable stamp set by Flora and Fauna, and a tag die by Pretty Pink Posh. The paper is by DCWV, and I used a sentiment by CTMH. The star stamp is by Autumn Leave, I think. I stamped the tiny stars and dots all over the tag, and masked the main image. This little penguin with his knit hat and sweater just made me laugh. I guess those are his wings hanging down, but they look like ear flaps to his hat, don't they?

Santa's On His Way
Here is another gift card holder that I made last night. This one is for a cat lover, so I stamped an image by JustRite Stamps and added it to a tag die by Pretty Pink Posh. The sentiment is also by JustRite Stamps. I cut a strip of red dotted patterned paper and slipped it under a green staple to substitute as a piece of ribbon, just for fun. The tiny die cut snowflake is from a Crafters Companion die set.

No Peeking!
I had to whip up several gift card holders (or in this case, a check holder) yesterday, to pop in the mail and I just hope they get there by Christmas. This year has been so crazy that I never know what day it is. I used some paper from a very old mat stack by DCWV, and a stamp set by Stampin' Up. This one is for a guy, so I went with bold, colors. the dies are by Sizzix and Spellbinders, with a stitched rectangle by Lawn Fawn.

We had a tan corgi while I was growing up so when I saw this cute little corgi die by Spellbinders, I had to get it. I combined the die with an embossing folder by Park Lane (Snowflakes), with a tag die by Sizzix and Spellbinders die set, I Love Puppies. The snowflake die is also by Spellbinders. I made a batch of several of these cards for dog loving family and friends, and it was a great way to use up snippets of leftover card stock and paper. The snowflake is cut from upcycled gift boxes as well. I love my Sizzix Big Shot for quick and easy cards.

Marshmallow World
When I saw that Day 7 of Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas challenge 2020 was inspired by the song, "A Marshmallow World", I wasn't familiar with it at all. However, after reading the lyrics, I knew exactly which stamp I wanted to use. This fun little snowman reminds me so much of two marshmallows stacked on top of each other that I made me laugh to color him. I popped him on a tag, and layered stitched dies by MFT for snow. The tag is embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder, and the heart die is by Spellbinders. I stamped the sentiment by Just Rite Stamps and added some cotton eyelet ribbon by May Arts ribbon.

Can't Thank You Enough
I recently got the cutest trio of dog silhouette dies by Spellbinders, and I had to turn one of them into this bookmark and thank you card. The heart shaped bookmark die is by My Creative Time, and the heart is an overlay, with the same heart underneath. I attached it with double sided tape, only at the top, so the heart can slip over a book page to keep it in place as a marker. The sentiment is by Stampin' Up, and I used an old heart punch for the heart embellishment. Behind the bookmark is a mini-envelope. I wanted to tuck the bookmark into the envelope at first, but then you can't see the sentiment...so I went with this instead. Two eyelets are the finishing touch. This card will go to a friend who used to have a black pug.

Here Comes Santa Claus
Here is another tag inspired by a Christmas carol for Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas 2020 challenge. Day 3's song is "Here Comes Santa Claus", so I pulled out this vintage Santa image by Recollections and stamped it on kraft. The stitched oval dies are by Gina Marie, and I added two star eyelets and twine.

When I saw the inspiration for Day 10 of Ellen Hutson's 12 Days of Christmas Tags 2020, which is the song "Grandma Got Run over by a Reindeer", I was stumped at first. I started looking through my dies and when I found my VW bus die by Flora and Fauna, I knew what I would do. These little reindeer are the Whittle Deer dies by Poppystamps, and the sentiment is by Stampin' Up. I cut my VW bug out of glossy, candy apple red, upcycled packaging and popped on two silver eyelets as headlights. I also backed the windows with vellum, to mute the patterned paper coming through behind the reindeer heads. This was a fun one to make, and I can only hope these deer have driver's licenses!

Partridge in a Pear Tree
Here is another tag that was inspired by a Christmas song. Day 12 of the Ellen Hutson 12 Tags of Christmas 2020 challenge showcases the song, "Twelve Days of Christmas", and this partridge in a pear tree was perfect for that. The stamp is a wood mounted design from 1999 that I've had forever. I colored the image with alcohol markers, and then colored the partridge with white colored pencil. Just for fun, I added a round eyelet at the tag top and a smaller star shaped eyelet at the bottom. It's been a lot of fun trying to figure out how to fit eyelets into my projects.

Falalalala
I have this old, wood mounted stamp in my stash that was just perfect for Day 11 of the Ellen Hutson 12 Tags of Christmas 2020 challenge. The inspiration for Day 11 is the song, "Deck the Halls", with its joyful Falalalala's all the way through. The tag is a manila tag that I inked with Distress Inks. Then I heat embossed the sentiment, and added die cut snowflakes by Spellbinders and Crafters Companion.

Here is another tag that I made today for the Ellen Hutson challenge, 12 Tags of Christmas 2020. This one was inspired by Day 5, which is the song, White Christmas. I used a tag die by Sizzix, with a winter village die by Gina Marie. The embossed sentiment is from Close to my Heart, and I added snowflake eyelets and bakers twine.

Silver Bells
I've been so busy that I hadn't even gotten started on my Christmas tags, so I took the time today to make a few that are inspired by the Ellen Hutson 2020 12 Tags of Christmas challenge. The tag challenges are all inspired by Christmas songs, and this one is inspired by Silver Bells, for Day 1. The tag die is by Gina K Designs, with a bell die that was given to me (so I don't know who makes it). The bow and holly dies are from a set by Helen Fitzjohn. I added some silver cord that was recycled from a candy box. The stitched circle is by MFT and sentiment is Just Rite Stamps. I always use my trusty Big Shot by Sizzix to cut my dies. Don't know what I would do without it!

I made this card with the intent to use at least a few of these snowflake eyelets that have languished in my stash for years. Although I sometimes use the regular round eyelets, I always pass over the shaped ones. So, I pulled out a beautiful die by Paper Roses (Reindeer Scene Frame) that I won in the Rudolph Challenge , and heat embossed a sentiment by Close to My Heart (Framed). I also used a poinsettia die by Poppystamps, which I cut out of an old gift box that I found in my closet. The snowflake eyelets are by Stampin'Up, and the embossing folder is Parklane. Happy Holidays!
If you're like me, you still have a lot of eyelets, and use them every now and then...but don't really get very creative. Another crafter on a forum I frequent challenged us to use those eyelets this week...and so I made this. Although I use the regular round eyelets often, I always skip over these shaped ones. The santa hat is a very old wood-mounted Stampin' Up stamp, and the sentiment is by Posh Impressions (also very, very, very old). I replaced the hat pom pom with a star eyelet, and added small silver ones to the sentiment mat. The snowflake die is by Spellbinders.

Peace at Christmas
Yes, it's another card using my old DCWV paper stack. I'm actually having a lot of fun limiting myself to this one paper pack, as it's making me look at my supplies in a new way. This one involved fussy cutting a tiny snow buddy and popping her up with foam tape. I used a stamp by Inkadinkado, and a snowflake die by Little B. A strip of paper from the same stack made a border that anchors my sentiment image and snowflake as well.

Snowman Greetings
I sat down and made several Christmas cards today, since I really haven't been meeting my quota of at least a card a week lately. I donate a lot of cards to local nursing and retirement homes, and often end up with not enough for friends and family. So I pulled out my old DCWV Christmas and Winter Stack and made some frosty winter designs. The snowman stamp is by Imaginisce, and the sentiment stamp is by Papertrey Ink. I fussy cut and colored the snowman, then added a few enamel dots by Stampin' Up. This was a great way to use those papers with bold designs on them, and just add a focal point to create a scene.

Christmas Parade
I recently got this fun die by Spellbinders and just had to make several cards for my card stash. The sentiment is by Avocado Arts, and the papers are by DCWV. I cut strips and borders from some of the papers in the stack and adhered them to ground the die cut.The snowflake die is by Spellbinders as well, and the sentiment is from my stash. I'm working with the same DCWV paper stack (a very, very old stack at that) so this week's cards all seem to be blue!
My card stack doesn't seem to be increasing at the rate it should, so I'm determined to make myself work on holiday cards for the next several weeks. Now that Thanksgiving is past, I can truly get into the Christmas mood as I shop online and surround myself with snippets of paper and glue.

Because my daughter and her family are completely social distancing from friends and other family members through this COVID year, we were able to have them over for Thanksgiving. They are the only ones we've seen since March, when our state went on COVID shut down. The granddaughters have distance learning online, and my son-in-law is able to work from home. I look forward to things improving next year and being able to see my family again. For now though, we are being safe.
Some of you know that my two granddaughters, Remi and Blair, love to make cards and all manner of crafts. They've participated in the Cat Lovers Hop each year, and love to borrow my craft supplies whenever I'm feeling generous. Here are our three generations of crafters on Thanksgiving Day! I hope you and yours are staying healthy, and that we can all hang in there until life returns to normal again.

My husband asked me to make a simple card for his brother's birthday next month, and so I pulled out my winter wilderness stamp by Sum More Fun stamp company. I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and matted on solid blue card stock. To tell the truth, I wanted to add eyelets to the corners of the card but husband said, "No, keep it simple. He won't notice extra details anyway". Haha!, well okay then.

I dug deep into my stash and used this fun, houndstooth paper, plus a really old Sizzix pie die to make this Thanksgiving card. I made several versions of this card, using a Spellbinders kit acorn die. I combined it with a Sizzix Tim Holtz alterations leaf die, which I inlaid into my card base. These two cards us the positive and negative leaf and backgrounds, along with a a distress inked card base. Die cutting from a card base and swapping out the negative and positive gives me two cards to work with, which is a great way to do multiples for holidays. I finished one of the acorns with an enamel square, tipped on its point and added a fiber knot to the other one. This is a great way to use up odds and ends from your stash. Friends and Chocolate
I spent half the evening coloring this cute image, and had a terrible time with goofs and mishaps, argh! My marker ran on the mittens and candy box, so I had to fussy cut from another image...then glue and color the overlay. After changing the colors TWICE, I finally cut and adhered the image to my card base, and then realized it didn't have any coffee on it. Oh my goodness....what a ridiculous evening. Not to be thwarted, however, I dug around in my stamps and found a teeny coffee (or cocoa) cup image by Not 2 Shabby. Colored and fussy cut that...and popped it onto my main image. DONE!!
